ABOUT THE AUTHOR 

S.K. Ramachandra Rao was a renowned Indian author, Sanskrit scholar, and professor of psychology. Born on September 4, 1925, in Hassan, Karnataka, he spent his early childhood in Bangalore, where he developed a keen interest in Sanskrit and psychology. Rao's academic journey led him to the University of Mysore, where he earned his master's degree in psychology in 1949.
Rao served as the head of the Department of Psychology at the Indian Institute of Science and later as Professor of Psychology at NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences).He wrote a book titled "The Development of Psychological Thought in India" and created an Indian version of the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) cards.- Rao's work spanned various fields, including psychology, indology, philosophy, social work, and education.
