Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj was a renowned Islamic scholar and muhaddith (scholar of hadith) from Nishapur, in present-day northeastern Iran. Born after 815 AD, he is best known for his compilation of hadiths, Sahih Muslim, which is considered one of the six major hadith collections in Sunni Islam and regarded as one of the two most authentic (sahih) collections alongside Sahih al-Bukhari.  Imam Muslim was born between 202-206 AH (817-822 AD) and passed away on May 25, 875 AD, at the age of 55.He studied under prominent scholars like Muhammad al-Bukhari, Ahmad ibn Hanbal, and Yahya ibn Ma'in.His notable students include al-Tirmidhi, Ibn Abi Hatim al-Razi, and Ibn Khuzaymah. Imam Muslim authored several books, including Sahih Muslim, Al-Asami wal-Kuna, Kitab at-Tabaqat, and Kitab al-Wahdan.His Sahih is considered a foundational text in Islamic scholarship, and his methodology in hadith compilation has been widely influential
