ABOUT THE BOOK 

The Monk without Frontiers is a compilation of articles written by the monks of the Ramakrishna Order, nuns of the Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, and devotees and admirers of Swami Ranganathananda. There are 136 pieces of writing on the Swami presenting his multi-faceted personality in an inspiring as well as interesting manner.

The Swami, in his long illustrious monastic career of about eight decades, had contributed in diverse fields. The most significant and notable one, for which he was reputed all over the world, was his role as the CULTURAL AND SPIRITUAL AMBASSADOR OF INDIA TO THE WORLD.

Through the articles of this book it is interesting to note that people viewed him diversely through their diverse frames of mind. He was looked upon as "the second Vivekananda", and some saw in him the re-advent of Adi Shan-karacharya.

A very colourful picture of the Swami thus emerges out of the pages of this book. It is an invaluable tribute to this great spiritual leader of our times and his astounding achievements in the realms of spirituality, philosophy, religion, culture, and global integration.

.I think that after Swami Vivekananda nobody has been able to spread Indian spiritual thought in the world as Swami Ranganathanandaji Maharaj had done. ...It is true that after Swami Vivekananda, even his brother-disciples stayed abroad for long and did a lot of work. But the way Sri Ramakrishna got things accomplished through Ranganathanandaji Maharaj can only be said to be a miracle of God. It is astonishing; simply astonishing!

...What a rare karmayogi he was! One can also see in him the remarkable characteristics of a jnanayogi. And then, look at his bhakti. All in all, an extraordinary example! Those who adorn the spiritual seat of Sri Ramakrishna [i.e. become the President of the Order], He reveals His special powers in them.
