ABOUT THE AUTHOR 

Frank Arjava Petter is a German-born Reiki historian, teacher, and author, renowned for his contributions to the understanding and practice of traditional Japanese Reiki. Born on August 24, 1960, in Düsseldorf, Germany, Petter embarked on a spiritual journey that led him to live in Japan for over a decade, where he immersed himself in the study of Reiki under the guidance of Chiyoko Yamaguchi, a direct student of Chujiro Hayashi, one of Mikao Usui's disciplessuccess strategies.

Mikao Usui was a Japanese Buddhist and spiritual teacher, best known as the founder of the Usui Reiki system of natural healing . Born in Taniai, Japan, Usui studied medicine, psychology, and various spiritual practices, including Buddhist and Taoist traditions, in his quest for a healing system that works on both body and mind.After a 21-day meditation and fasting retreat on Mount Kurama, he experienced a profound spiritual awakening, receiving the ability to heal through **energy transfer via hands, which became the foundation of Reiki.Usui developed a structured system of Reiki principles, hand positions, and techniques, which he taught to students through a series of attunements or initiations.His teachings emphasized holistic healing, spiritual growth, and living a life aligned with ethical principles such as gratitude, honesty, and compassion.
