About The Book
"Youth and Society: The Educational Environment in India" explores the modes of learning among youth and examines the nature of morality and choice across four different societies. This cross-cultural study focuses on how social norms, justice, and ethics shape youth consciousness.

The research highlights significant inadequacies in the curricula of elementary and secondary education, questioning how preferred ideas of socialization can be integrated into formal education. By investigating the perceptions children have about adulthood, the study aims to provide insights into improving educational practices.

Foreword
Dr. Khare's work highlights the awareness of Indian youth regarding social norms and civic life in a post-colonial context. His findings reveal concerns among students about their national civic engagement. This important study underscores the need for a comprehensive understanding of the educational environment in India, emphasizing the role of teachers in the socialization process. The research findings should be taken seriously by educators and policymakers aiming to enhance India's educational landscape.
