ABOUT THE BOOK

Prem Rasa Madira: Prem Rasa Madira (Set of 2 Volumes), composed by the profound spiritual master Jagadguruttam Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, is a monumental masterpiece of devotional poetry and a cornerstone of contemporary Bhakti literature. Spanning two extensive volumes, this anthology contains 1,002 highly esoteric, deeply emotional songs (padas) that systematically map the sweet, ecstatic realms of Madhurya Rasa—the highest form of divine love, specifically centering on the intimate pastimes (leelas) of Radha Rani and Lord Sri Krishna in Braj.

The primary objective of this two-volume compilation is to serve as an experiential, analytical manual for practicing raganuga devotion. The title literally translates to "The Intoxicant of the Nectar of Divine Love," signifying that these compositions are designed to intoxicate the mind of the spiritual practitioner (sadhaka) with pure love, completely cleansing it of material desires. The verses are meticulously classified by the author into various thematic and emotional categories:

  • Siddhanta Madira (Philosophy of Love): Establishes the foundational philosophical blueprints of the Hladini Shakti (divine bliss potency), explaining that Radha and Krishna are one soul in two physical forms.
  • Braj Leela Madira (Pastimes of Braj): Covers a massive spectrum of narrative songs detailing the birth festivities, childhood antics (Bal-Leela), the cosmic dance (Maharaas), and the subtle micro-interactions of the divine couple in the forests of Vrindavan.
  • Mana and Viraha Madira (Jealous Anger and Separation): Explores the complex, highly refined emotional states of Viraha (agonizing separation) and Mana (loving dispute), shedding light on the deep psychological anatomy of divine love.
  • Dainya Madira (Ecstatic Humility): Contains structural prayers of extreme humility, enabling seekers to shed their ego and pray for selfless, unconditional devotional service (Nishkama Bhakti).

Every single verse is written in rich, highly rhythmic, and traditional Braj Bhasha poetry, accompanied by meticulous word-by-word Hindi translations and explanations. Organized systematically according to classical Indian musical modes (Ragas), this set functions as both an intellectual scriptural authority and a practical songbook for daily kirtan and meditation.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jagadguruttam Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj (1922–2013) was a preeminent spiritual master and the fifth historical Jagadguru (Spiritual Master of the World), a title unanimously conferred upon him in 1957 by the Kashi Vidvat Parishat when he was just 34 years old. He was globally recognized for his unparalleled, exhaustive command over the Vedas, Upanishads, and the Bhagavata Purana.

Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj’s authorial and compositional style is marked by a unique synthesis of absolute philosophical stringency and deep, overwhelming emotional intensity. He wrote entirely for the spiritual upliftment of humanity, founding Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat (JKP), which manages massive, iconic monuments like the Prem Mandir in Vrindavan and the Bhakti Mandir in Mangarh. His other monumental literary works—such as Radha Govind Geet and Prem Rasa Siddhanta—remain benchmark texts globally studied by seekers of Sanatana Dharma.
