ABOUT THE BOOK
Philosophy of the Masters (Volume 3) is a vital installment in the landmark series translated from the original Gurmat Sidhant, authored by Huzur Maharaj Sawan Singh. While previous volumes established the foundation of the spiritual path and the role of the Master, Volume 3 focuses intensely on the Practical Way to achieve God-realization. It centers on the concept of Shabd (the Divine Word or Sound Current) as the only efficacious power for the soul's liberation. This volume is often considered the "how-to" guide for the earnest seeker, explaining the inner mechanics of meditation and the transformation of human consciousness.
The book provides a deep analysis of the "five thieves"—the mental impulses of lust, anger, greed, attachment, and pride—that keep the soul anchored to the material world. It offers a spiritual roadmap for overcoming these obstacles through Simran (repetition of the holy names) and Bhajan (listening to the inner sound). By weaving together the insights of Persian mystics, Indian saints, and biblical references, the Great Master illustrates that the path to the Divine is not a matter of intellectual debate or external ritual, but an internal, scientific process of withdrawing the soul-current from the body and focusing it at the "third eye" center.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Huzur Maharaj Sawan Singh (1858–1948), known to his followers as the "Great Master," was the spiritual successor to Baba Jaimal Singh and the leader of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas for over four decades. A retired military engineer, he was celebrated for his ability to explain the most esoteric mystical experiences with the logic and clarity of a scientist. His teachings emphasize that spiritual practice should be integrated into a normal, productive life in the world. Under his guidance, the philosophy of Sant Mat gained international recognition, attracting seekers from across the globe who were drawn to his message of universal love and inner self-realization.
