ABOUT THE BOOK

The Cure for All Diseases, authored by the controversial alternative health practitioner Hulda Regehr Clark and first published in 1995, is a prominent text within the alternative medicine and naturopathic landscape. The book outlines an unorthodox, holistic medical theory that claims almost all human illnesses, including cancer, HIV/AIDS, and diabetes, stem from just two core environmental causes: microscopic parasites and chemical pollutants.

The primary objective of the volume is to present a self-health protocol designed to eliminate these perceived pathogens and toxins from the human body. Dr. Clark's methodology relies heavily on a home-built electronic device she invented called the "Zapper." According to the book, this low-voltage, battery-operated device emits a specific electrical frequency ($30\text{ kHz}$) that can supposedly kill internal parasites, bacteria, and viruses without harming human tissue.

Alongside electrotherapy, the text provides recipes for herbal cleanses—most notably a combination of black walnut hulls, wormwood, and fresh cloves—alongside rigorous guidelines for removing heavy metals, solvents, and synthetic chemicals from the home environment.

Important Scientific Note: The medical and scientific communities broadly categorize the claims in this book as pseudoscientific. Major regulatory bodies, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), have issued warnings against the promotional claims of the "Zapper," noting there is no clinical evidence supporting its efficacy in treating serious medical conditions.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Hulda Regehr Clark (1928–2009) was a Canadian naturopath, author, and independent alternative health researcher. She earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in biology from the University of Saskatchewan, and went on to receive a PhD in cell physiology from the University of Minnesota in 1958. She later studied at the Clayton College of Natural Health, an unaccredited alternative medicine school.

Dr. Clark’s career was marked by significant legal and medical controversies due to her absolute rejection of orthodox oncology and immunology. She operated clinics in Indiana and later in Tijuana, Mexico, where she administered her frequency-based therapies and herbal regimens. Her writing style is highly direct, presenting complex physiological arguments with a structured, do-it-yourself accessibility that appealed widely to proponents of alternative medicine, despite her theories remaining entirely unrecognized by mainstream science.
