ABOUT THE AUTHOR 

Brian Quayle Silver (born 1942) is a scholar particularly known for his work on Urdu poetry and Mirza Ghalib. Among his works is The Noble Science of the Ghazal: The Urdu Poetry of Mirza Ghalib .He has done scholarly analysis of motifs, imagery, and word-clusters in Ghalib’s Diwan, taking a somewhat anthological / analytical approach to studying the Urdu ghazal.
