ABOUT THE BOOK
Whispers from Eternity is a profound collection of "answered prayers" and mystical invocations by the great Yoga master Paramahansa Yogananda. Unlike conventional prayer books that ask for material favors, this work is designed to help the reader establish a direct, "soul-to-soul" dialogue with the Divine.
Yogananda provides a variety of spiritual compositions, including:
- Visions of God: Poetic descriptions of the Divine as Light, Sound, and Love.
- Prayers for Practical Life: Invocations for health, wisdom, and the removal of fear.
- Universal Prayers: Non-sectarian chants that embrace all faiths.
- Metaphysical Meditations: Techniques to interiorize the consciousness and perceive the "Eternal Whisper" within.
The book is celebrated for its rhythmic, soaring prose and its ability to transport the reader from a state of restlessness to one of deep, meditative peace. It serves as a spiritual manual for those seeking to transform mechanical prayer into a living, vibrant experience of God-realization.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Paramahansa Yogananda (1893–1952) is widely regarded as the "Father of Yoga in the West." His best-selling spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi, has introduced millions of readers to the ancient science of Kriya Yoga. Born in India, he moved to the United States in 1920, where he founded the Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) to disseminate his teachings on the underlying unity of all true religions.
Yogananda was a bridge-builder between East and West, teaching that the scientific techniques of meditation could lead to a personal experience of Truth. His life was a testament to "unconditional love" and "spiritual efficiency," and he remains one of the most respected and influential spiritual figures of the modern era.
